U Me & Us – vision for victims and survivors of domestic/ sexual abuse is clear – each and every women and young girl needs to be equipped with the necessary life skills so that their lives women and young girls can flourish and actively contribute to society.
•It is becoming more and more apparent that services are not meeting the full range of needs of survivors. This includes practical needs, (parenting, finances, employability, housing) as well as physical, mental and emotional needs. Services are not often accessible to dip in and out of as and when they are needed.
•U Me & Us – believes that is unacceptable that many women and young girls are still suffering in silence from crimes that wreck their lives as well as the lives of their families and loved ones.
•U Me & Us – strongly feels that it is unacceptable that there are barriers and additional demographic barriers to accessing support for women and young people in western society.
•U Me & Us - perspective is that the only way real sustainable and effective progress can be made is if governments, local government, local partners, agencies and every single community member work together in all areas. The UK Government recently published that “tackling Violence Against Women and Girls (“VAWG”) is everyone’s business as the cost to individuals cannot be measured but the cost of violence and abuse to the economy can be calculated and is considerable.
U Me & Us is here for you, even if it's just to have a chat, you talk and we listen please, please, please, know you are not alone.
